Hi, I’m Angela Fay. I am a passionate educator, a proud mother, and a dedicated leader from the heartland of Iowa. With years of experience in teaching and higher education, I bring a blend of expertise and empathy to my role as a high school English teacher at Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, Iowa.
Beyond the classroom, my commitment to youth development has been defined by my lifelong involvement with the Girl Scouts. My journey began with selling cookies and eventually led me to spend five summers as a camp counselor during high school and college. It was during those summers in the woods that I first began dreaming of becoming a camp director.
The Girl Scouts have truly shaped who I am. After watching both of my daughters attend camp and eventually follow in my footsteps as counselors, I found myself home alone one summer. I realized that if they could go to camp, so could I! That was the moment I decided to pursue my dream.
I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the outdoors as the Summer Director at Camp Mitchell this year. I can’t wait to lead and inspire the next generation of campers and staff.
When I’m not empowering young minds or leading outdoor adventures, you can find me:
Curled up with a good book (the English teacher in me never rests!), Baking something delicious in the kitchen, cheering on my beloved Chicago Cubs, and spending quality time with my two grown daughters and my wonderful family.

Chris is one of our full-time team members who keeps camp running behind the scenes. From cooking up delicious meals in the kitchen to maintaining our beautiful grounds, he’s always hard at work making sure your time on the mountain is comfortable and memorable.

Lynne is the warm welcome waiting for you when you arrive. She helps with hospitality, check-ins, and tours, and she can answer all your questions to make your stay feel like home. She can’t wait to meet you and your crew!
Abby Oliver Jennings - Development Director/Office Manager
Melissa Simpson - Registration Coordinator/Communications Manager (she/her)
Seminarian based in Texas, supporting reservations and guest bookings remotely with a heart for hospitality and service. A devoted mom of four—three of whom have attended camp—she brings both personal and professional experience to her work. Formerly a youth and young adult director at All Saints Episcopal Church in Russellville, she considers Camp Mitchell her home away from home, where her passion for ministry and community continues to thrive.
