Want to spend a summer working on Petit Jean Mountain? This is the place to look. Each summer Camp Mitchell hires young adults to help shape and lead our summer camp programming. Summer Activities Coordinator

The Activities Coordinator is a senior level position for an experienced camp staffer who is enthusiastic about traditional camp fun. This person will lead the planning and organizing of all Free Choice and Special Skills activities. Applicants should be high energy, creative, and able to work well on a team. If you are interested in serving our summer camp program in this manner, please consider applying for the Activities Coordinator position. Application Deadline is January 15, 2018.

 

Summer CAmp CounseloR

Summer Counselors are the glue that holds Camp Mitchell's Summer Program together. With a true servant's heart, these young leaders teach our campers about God's love while leading almost all aspects of daily camp programming. If you have high energy, a love for working with people, and a commitment to lead, please consider applying to be a Camp Mitchell Counselor. Application Deadline is January 15, 2018.

Counselor in training (CIT)

CIT's serve as another level of supervision and role modeling for campers at Camp Mitchell. They work alongside counselors and adult staff to assure that campers are safe, supported, and supervised. While participating in all daily camp activities, CIT's lead by example. If you are a young person interested in gaining real world expereince in servant leadership, please consider applying to be a CIT at Camp Mitchell. Application deadline is February 15, 2018.

Media Coordinator

The Camp Mitchell Media Coordinator spends the summer making sure all the fun of summer camp gets documented. As the chief photographer and videographer, the Media Coordinator spends their day behind the camera lens capturing the essence of camp. When not photographing, they are updating the camp blog and facebook page, or putting together slideshows and digital photo albums. If you are a college aged student and would like to spend your summer photographing camp, please consider applying to be Camp Mitchell's Media Coordinator. Sustainability Coordinator

Camp Mitchell's Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for connecting the life of the Camp Mitchell Agricultural Program to the daily life of summer camp. They make sure kids get a chance to learn about where their food comes from and they teach activities to campers grounded in the wholeness and holiness of food. If you have a passion for farming and engaging with children, please consider applying. Application deadline is January 15, 2018.

 

Session Director

The Session Director is directly responsible for the Christian Education programming during each camp session. Each week of camp has a different director and each director brings their unique twist to the theme of that summer. The Session Director oversees the planning and implementing of the educational opportunities at a camp session and works alongside the camp staff to create a successful camp session.

 

Staff chaplain

The Staff chaplain provides spiritual guidance to all summer staff through the duration of the summer. They work with summer camp staff and volunteers to plan and lead regular worship while also being present to any pastoral needs that might arise from staff over the course of a busy summer. When the need arises, they also serve as a mediator to interpersonal conflicts.
