- Pets (other than assistance animals) are not allowed on the campus.
- Smoking is not permitted in any Camp Mitchell facility. Please smoke outdoors in designated areas and use appropriate cans for cigarette disposal.

- When driving on the campus, please keep your speed to a minimum.
- We think of Camp Mitchell as “God’s Back Yard,” please help us keep it litter-free.
The Chapel of the Transfiguration is available for use by persons of all faiths. You should schedule your service time(s) with the Executive Directors in order to avoid conflicts with other groups.
You may be sharing the campus with one or more other groups:
- It is expected that the members of each group will respect the beliefs, values and rights of the other.
- The following types of clothing and styles of dress should not be worn on the campus; Bikini or thong swim suits; revealing tops; shorts that do not completely cover the buttocks; shorts, pants or tops worn so as to intentionally show undergarments; undergarments worn as outergarments; clothes (i.e. t-shirts) which display hate slogans or objectionable language, images or graphics.
- Noise in the vicinity of the Chapel should be kept to a minimum when it is occupied by another group.
- Unless specific arrangements are made, quiet is to be maintained between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Safety:
- While it is generally left to the discretion of each group, younger children should not be allowed within 10 feet of the cliffs.
- Outdoor fires are only permitted with the approval of Camp Mitchell management and will be prohibited during "Burn Ban" periods.
- Groups using the swimming pool do so at their own risk, Camp Mitchell does not provide Life Guard services (except during Summer Camps). Flotation devices are available on request.
- Camp Mitchell staff members are not permitted to act in the capacity of "chaperones" except in emergency situations or situations when failure to act could result in harm to group members.
Behavior:
- Lewd or objectionable language, gestures or behavior are not tolerated and we reserve the right to ask the offending party or parties to leave the premisis.
- Displays or acts of prejudice against any group or individual based on their ethnicity, faith, sexual preference, gender or handicap are not tolerated.
Non-human Inhabitants:
- The Coyotes and Bobcats are sometimes noisy at night but do not attack humans.
- The Roadrunners are amusing but please don't chase them.
- Groups visiting during warmer months should be aware that we share this space with all of God's creatures and some of them bite. Caution should be exercised when picking up objects lying on the ground or when hiking near streams, ponds or marsh areas.
- The Tarantulas found during warmer months do not bite.
- Although Scorpion stings or bites from snakes of this area are very seldom deadly, we strongly recommend that anyone bitten or stung be immediately taken to the Morrillton hospital for monitoring in case of an allergic reaction.
- The presence of a snake on the main campus should be reported to a member of the Camp Mitchell staff.
- Killing of animals (other than Scorpions and insects) is prohibited.
- Although we try to keep the main campus free of them, there are still areas which are inhabited by ticks and chiggers. During warmer months, we recommend bringing a supply of bug repellent and something to help with itching (i.e. Cortisone creme).
- Don't walk beneath Buzzards perched on a railing.
Drug Policy: Camp Mitchell maintains a Zero Tolerance drug policy. Any youth found in possession of illegal substances will be reported to an adult member of his/her group. Any adult found in possession of illegal substances will be asked to leave the grounds immediately. Failure to comply will be reported to the local authorities.
Alcoholic Beverages: We do not permit the consumption of alcohol by anyone under the age of 21. We ask that adults do so responsibly and that they refrain from drinking in the presence of other groups. |
